Can’t believe it was way back in 2009 that I reviewed this Pixar winner in 2D, but here is the post-production 3D version.  Is it worth it? Yes! It almost seems like many of the scenes were designed to be really effective in 3D, such as the riding on the various moving doors thru the huge spaces of the factory.

Of course the key to the success of the entire effort is the terrific duo of John Goodman and Billy Crystal—the film simply wouldn’t have been half as effective without them. And the plot point about switching from collecting the children’s screams to collecting their laughter is a wonderful bit which I think escaped me the first time around. My favorite of all the big and little monsters is the floor-sweeping snail thing who has just swept up a slime area and then moves off, leaving a new slime area behind. And the first two of the supplied shorts in 3D are much fun. Just read the first review for a summary of the film.
