2014 CES Saw Record Attendance – The 2014 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, which ran Jan. 7-10, reports a record number of attendees: 160,498 industry professional overall, up 5% over 2013. There were a record number of international professionals: 40,828, from 144 countries.  6,757 press and industry analysts also attended to report on the latest consumer technologies and trends. There were 3,673 exhibitors – a 12% increase from 2013, and their exhibits spanned 2.06 million net square feet of exhibit space.

LifeTech Brands to Bring XDream Portable Speakers and External Power Banks to U.S. –  China’s Famous Works Electronics will be marketing their units thru their network of retailers and distributors. They already market protective cases, external power banks, wireless speakers and other mobile accessories in the U.S.  Their speaker selection includes Bluetooth speakers, custom-printed foldable speakers, and a pill-shaped wire speaker, the X-Vibe. XDream power banks feature machined-aluminum housings and 8-hour charging times.

Petra Adds Three AV Vendors to Expand HT and Custom-install Areas – Petra Industries has added TEAC, Ethereal Home Theater and Antennas Direct, representing an opportunity for their dealers to present innovative products and respected brands to customers. TEAC has high-quality CE and AV equipment, stereo receivers, CD players and headphones. Ethereal has LED light strips, bulk speaker cables, AV connectors and surveillance and security cables. Antennas Direct offers a complete line of indoor and outdoor antennas providing for digital HDTV reception and solutions to customers cutting their cable and satellite subscriptions.

HD Radio Coming to More Factory-Installed Cars – HD Radio developer iBiquity Digital says that all major U.S. automakers now offer HD Radio capabilities. The latest to join is Nissan, the 35th automaker to offer the technology. 35 vehicle brands have announced plans to incorporate HD Radio in over 185 vehicle models by the end of this year, and more than 90 models will feature HD Radio as standard equipment.

Meridian Partnership with Netsertive – Netsertive automates localized digital advertising and channel-marketing programs to help boost sales in targeted local markets. Meridian ads will direct consumers to a landing page for each dealer in order to drive activity on their website, and ensure that customers have a more consistent brand experience.
