AUDIOPHILE AUDITION focuses on recordings of interest to audiophiles and collectors, with an accent on surround sound for music, and on all hi-res disc formats.  Over 100 SACD, DVD Video/Audio and standard CD reviews are published during each month, and our archives go back to January 2001. 

For July our Drawing-Giveaway is for a pair of excellent discs - one classical and one crossover, one hybrid SACD and the other a standard CD.  We reviewed the Liszt Recital by the Russian concert pianist Polina Leschenko. It features the virtuosic Piano Sonata in B minor, and filling out the program the variations on Bach’s Chaconne by Busoni.  Leschenko’s disc is a five-channel Avanti SACD.  Then from the Avie label we offer another work by  former Deep Purple member Jon Lord (we reviewed his piano concerto recently) - The Durham Concerto.
